Dear Friends,

We invite you to participate in a very exciting celebration and fundraiser in honor of “White Cane Day”, a government designated day of awareness for the blind, this October 15th, 2016!

We are happy to announce that HHDNYC has teamed up with local alternative pop artist Anne Tello to launch an exciting new “beautiful” music video featuring our very own Vice President, Lucia Marett, which we will launch together on “White Cane Day”, before taking a short volunteer assisted “Awareness March” to Union Square Park.  This video will drive awareness to a fall fundraising effort for HHDNYC, which we have set a goal of making 10k.

We need you, our community, to come out and participate in the walk, donate to our crowd funder, and to spread the word about what we think will be a very exciting and public initiative for HHDNYC!

Schedule for “White Cane Day”, October 15th:

1:00PM Meet at the Hudson Guild, Meet and Greet with Volunteers

2:00PM Watch Anne Tello’s “Beautiful Video” featuring Lucia Marett, with words from Alice, Lucia and Anne.

2:20PM Commence Volunteer Assisted “Awareness March” to Union Square Park

3:00PM “White Cane Day” Gathering in Union Square Park.

If you would like to participate in the day, and you want a volunteer to assist you, please call Alice at 718-606-9712, as soon as possible.

If you would like to volunteer, please sign up online at, or visit .

To donate online anytime from now through November, please visit, or find a link to it on Facebook on the HHDNYC page, or Anne Tello’s page, @theannetello.  There are an exciting set of perks and rewards. You may also send donations in the envelope provided.

We are a small non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.  Our special Pantry provides deliveries to disabled persons who are unable to go to a regular food pantry.  We also have social events to enrich the lives of disabled adults.

If you cannot donate money, donate your time and volunteer to help a disabled adult, or join us on Thursday nights from now until the end of November.  For more information, visit our website at or email us at or call us at 718-606-9712.

Check us out online! We will be using the tag #whitecaneday and #beautifulmusicvideo.
